A NYC-based folk dancer, caller, teacher, and organizer, Alexandra calls dance weekends, camps, and festivals all over the country. She tours, calling local dances for both contra and English Country Dance. She also calls community, teen, and family dances as well as weddings and parties.
Her clear teaching, smooth voice, and fun dance selection delight dancers coast-to-coast (and once in Paris, France!!). Alex is excellent with all levels of dancers whether they just walked in the door or have been dancing since before she was born. She enjoys challenging the brains of experienced dancers and making dance accessible for new folks. She has dances for all the folks!
When she is not calling or dancing, she can be found sword dancing with Half Moon Sword, singing choirs (with the Oratorio Society of New York and Florilegium Chamber Choir), playing the piano, dance organizing, and learning new fiber arts.
Les Quatre Patates
Les Quatre Patates is a contra dance band from Montreal, Quebec. Having played together in various combinations at contra dances for the past several years, Grace Hendrickson-Jones, Jonathan Werk, Jacob deGroot-Maggetti, and Antonie Beaudet officially came together to form Les Quatre Patates in December 2023.
Collectively, they have been influenced by many genres, including trad, classical, jazz, and choral music.
Adam is a versatile fiddler, guitarist, producer, and engineer with deep roots in traditional music and a commitment to innovation. Nominated for a 2019 JUNO Award for Instrumental Album of the Year, he's a compelling performer and an in-demand collaborator.
Adam started playing professionally at the age of 14, and by the age of 17 was gigging 6 nights a week in Victoria BC playing Irish, country, bluegrass, and early music. Adam attended the Victoria Conservatory of Music, studying jazz and classical music on the violin and upright bass, and later graduated from the performance program at Berklee College of Music (2015) with a minor in jazz theory. At Berklee, Adam studied violin with Simon Shaheen, Matt Glaser, Darol Anger, and Bruce Molsky, and music theory with Daniel Ian Smith.
Áine has been playing fiddle for 16 years, learning music while touring and playing for dances with their family; being surrounded by the magic of their parents’ (Julie Schryer and Pat O’Gorman) music camp AlgomaTrad; and being influenced by many exceptional and generous musicians including their brother Benoît, uncles Raymond, Louis, Pierre, and Dan, and the Brian Pickell Band. They grew up competing at Ontario fiddle contests, placing 6th in the Canadian Grand Masters in 2023.
In the past few years they have been focussed on developing their Irish style of playing, with mentorship from Patrick Ourceau. They now reside in Toronto where they balance passing on the traditions of Canadian fiddling as a teacher with World on a String, and bringing their passion for music into their career in community arts (Jumblies Theatre, Gather Round Singers, Arts for All).
Jon is a truly multi-talented person. He is a researcher, musician, educator and entrepreneur. He has studied a wide range of world music, including Jewish, Romanian, Celtic, and American fiddling. He performs regularly on violin, sometimes as a member of award-winning Boston klezmer band Ezekiel's Wheels.
He is also in demand as a contra dance musician, both on fiddle and on guitar accompaniment, and has played for over 150 contra dances up and down the Eastern Seaboard. He has taught violin students across a wide range of ages and levels, both in private lessons and in workshops at camps, festivals, and schools.

If you do not have a mask that is not a problem. There will be N-95 or equivalent masks available for free at the registration desk.
